I've hunted wild pheasants in Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansa, and South Dakota. I’ve hunted numerous game farms in Wisconsin. Many of them offered great cover and great hunts, but Tanglewood is in a class of it’s own. This is as close to South Dakota as you can get. The cover is outstanding. Leaving standing sorghum and corn in patches, swaths of native prairie grass, the riverbank and wood lot, and the steep hillsides provide diverse and changing cover. I've hunted at least five days and yet to cover the entrie far. Come prepared for shooting challenges as brids flush at the most inopportune times. In mor of the fields, if you see any buildings at all it's the lodge. The birds are outstanding. They know how to fly. The first Monday in January 2014 I took my three boys and two labs and started hunting in 15 below weather with a nice snow cover...There are lots of scratch birds and they are eating the sorghum and are healthy. So you think you are going for a reflush and three birds get up. Be ready...The times I've hunted with snow on the ground there were tracks all over, and just before sunset the cocks started talking from all over. The lodge is beautiful and homey. It has a great kitchen, the people are helpful and outgoing, and the bird cleaning facilities are outstanding and warm. If you don't have the time to sneak out west, spend a day or two at Tanglewood and just enjoy the experience.

My
husband and I entertained eight delighted guests at wonderful Tanglewood
Lodge in mid-August. We noted that the listing description, photos,
and ammenities were entirely accurate. The cleanliness and maintenence
of the interior/exterior were superior. The owner offered his services
with friendliness and professional attention. We rate this 4 seasons,
exceptionally furnished, scenic 500+ acre property, as excellent
value and a 5+ star experience. In addition to recommending this
property, especially for larger groups, we'll happily consider entertaining
guests in the near future at Tanglewood Lodge.

My
husband and I needed a short getaway and found Tanglewood to be
the perfect spot. The cabin is immaculate, located on beautiful
scenery, near fabulous Mineral Point. The cabin is completely modern
with every convenience you can think of. We enjoyed hiking the land
and enjoying peace and quiet during the day and a nice dinner in
town with friendly locals at night. Thank you for a great place
to stay. Looking forward to sharing it with friends next summer.

I
have had the good fortune to hunt at Tanglewood at least twice
a year since it opened in 2004. The acreage available to hunt and
work dogs is unmatched when comparing hunt clubs anywhere in Wisconsin.
We had a lot of crazy weather over the years at Tanglewood. No matter
what the condition the cover has always provided for a good hunt.
Deep snow or cold weather are no problem for the staff to accommodate
guests. Next best thing to South Dakota without the drive.
I
have been able to entertain clients at Tanglewood on numerous occasions.
The main lodge leaves a lasting memory for any outdoors person that
sees it.
At
the end of the day the one thing that really separates the Tanglewood
Ranch is the owner Kurt Wedig and his staff, everyone is always
accommodating and has the guests best interest in mind. At
Tanglewood its always A good time had by all.
